It’s been determined there is no foul play in the death of a man found inside a burned vehicle last Friday.

RCMP confirmed in a news release Thursday that a forensic autopsy was conducted on the human remains found inside the burned vehicle that had been reported to North Battleford RCMP. According to the RCMP the forensic pathologist has determined the death to be accidental, as no evidence of foul play was found.

RCMP say a forensic anthropologist was also in attendance, and positively identified the remains as those of a 31-year-old man from the North Battleford area.

The name of the deceased is not being released, say the RCMP, as the investigation is not criminal and no charges will be pursued.

The RCMP is also thanking the public and media for their assistance in the matter as one witness came forward since the initial release.

Anyone else who might have had contact with the other vehicle occupants is still encouraged to contact North Battleford RCMP at 306-446-1720, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submit a tip via their website:  http://saskcrimestoppers.com/ or text in a tip: TIP206 + your tip to CRIMES (274637).
