A fire Wednesday afternoon has left a house in Wilkie with significant smoke and fire damage, according to Wilkie RCMP.
The fire was reported shortly before 3 p.m. in the 500 block of 4th Street West. Police say the occupants had evacuated the building before emergency services arrived and no one was injured.
The Wilkie Fire Department was able to quickly gain control of the fire. The residence sustained significant smoke and fire damage.
RCMP say the cause of the fire was determined to not be suspicious in nature.
The RCMP like thank the public for respecting the blockades in place at the time to allow emergency crews to safely and effectively respond to the incident.
