There is no need for an election for Battlefords Chamber directors in 2014.
There were exactly 11 nominations for the 11 available positions for the upcoming term on the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce board of directors.
As a result, all positions have been filled for the coming term, with a motion passed to that effect at a special members meeting of the Chamber held Nov. 25.
Five incumbents are returning while the other six are newcomers to the board. Those returning are Kelly Atcheynum, Meghan Kennedy, Bill Volk, Trent Gatzke and Ruebecca Fiddler. The others are Melanie Roberts (North West Regional College), Terry Caldwell (Carpet Superstores), Jordan Solomko (Ventures West Charters), Mitchell Cooper (Demmans Baldwin Friedman Frank law office), Rod Forman (Anderson Pump House) and Leanne Ducommun (Battlefords and District Co-op).
All will serve a two-year term starting in 2015, comprising almost half of the composition of the board.
Current members of the Chamber Board who are retiring after this term are Malcolm Anderson, Moe McGuinty, Dr. Melissa Gieni and Sharon Mohagen.
The Chamber intends to recognize them for their work at the President’s Banquet to be held in the New Year.
