North Battleford hires new Economic Development Manager

Jan Swanson announced as the new hire, will start Nov. 21.

City Hall has announced the latest addition to its administration team.

NORTH BATTLEFORD - The City of North Battleford has announced that Jan Swanson has been named their new Economic Development Manager.

This is a new position created in city administration this year, with Swanson chosen following an extensive search. He starts his new role Nov. 21.

Swanson has experience in the public and private sector, including as the Premier’s lead on a Business Centre Initiative in the Ukraine, and as developer of a Provincial Business Succession/Transition Program and the Entrepreneurial Development System. He holds a Bachelor of Administration from the University of Regina and a certified Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) Master Consultant through the University of Minnesota, along with other certifications. 

“Jan’s new role as Economic Development Manager will make full use of Jan’s skills and experience while his specialized area of expertise will contribute significantly to business attraction, retention, and expansion in the community,” said City Manager Randy Patrick in a statement.

“I am very pleased to welcome Jan to our team. I know his experience will contribute to the City’s success in achieving its strategic goals in the area of economic development.”
