An 18-year-old man is dead following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 3 on the east side of Turtle Lake near Turtleford Friday morning.
Turtleford RCMP say the man was taken by ambulance to Riverside Health Complex in Turtleford by ambulance, but died upon arrival.
The Battlefords North Stars, junior A hockey team confirmed the man in the accident was a prospect of the team and on his way to camp in North Battleford for the weekend.
The young man also played with the Battleford Midget Stars during the 2010-11 season.
The RCMP continues to investigate the accident.
