A major rain on Aug. 8 commencing at 2:44 a.m. continuing to 7:50 a.m. has strained the City of North Battleford’s storm sewer infrastructure. The amount of rain the city received is a one in 20-year storm, with approximately 59 mm of rain during this period. City crews are hard at work ensuring that all storm systems are open and that flooded streets are blocked from traffic.
The public is asked to avoid driving through flooded areas and to be mindful of pedestrians and other vehicles while driving through any puddles.
City crews are assisting individuals who are experiencing flooding in their basements. If you require assistance, please contact City Hall at 306-445-1700. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we deal with these above average rainfalls.
