Onion Lake RCMP and the RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) are investigating a violent sexual assault that occurred on June 2, 2018 at a residence on the Onion Lake Cree Nation.
Investigators say they have determined that between approximately 9 and 10 a.m. June 2 an unknown male, armed with weapons, broke into a residence and sexually assaulted a lone adult female who was at the residence. The perpetrator fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim was treated and released from Lloydminster Hospital for injuries that occurred during the assault.
RCMP say an investigation is progressing with the assistance of several specialized units and investigators are now asking the public for their assistance.
