Overtures made to U.K. physicians

A U.K. agency has been contracted to assist North Saskatchewan River Health Holdings with physician recruitment efforts. Members of the board were told at a regular meeting Sept. 19 in Turtleford some interest has been expressed by physicians there.

Prairie North Health Region also continues to recruit for Health Holdings through the Provincial Recruitment Agency.

Dr. Mbaogu and both nurse practitioners have returned from holidays. Dr. Sabir provided locum services for September and the first two weeks of October.

The board expressed appreciation to the physicians and nurses for their dedication and commitment to supplying services to Health Holdings communities over the summer holiday months.

PNHR has also contracted a physician from the United Kingdom for a three-month locum service at Health Holding clinics. Immigration proceedings are underway and the physician is expected to arrive by early November.

Cheryl Starnes has been hired for the casual position at Riverside Medical Clinic. Marie-Anne Corbiel has been rehired as a casual for the Edam clinic.
