The structure fire was at an apartment building in the 3000 block of Dunn Drive Tuesday

PRINCE ALBERT - Prince Albert firefighters battled a structure fire at an apartment building in the 3000 block of Dunn Drive Tuesday.

Prince Albert Fire Department says that when crews arrived around 10:50 a.m., they encountered heavy smoke and flames from the roof and back of the three-story apartment building.

"Firefighters completed a primary search of the structure to ensure occupants were out and then began an aggressive exterior attack," said the Prince Albert Fire Department late Tuesday.

"The fire was extinguished with significant damage to the building and contents."

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation, said the fire department.

Portions of Dunn drive were closed off and Prince Albert Police Service asked the public to avoid the area.
