Permit values rebounded in March in North Battleford after taking a dip in February.

According to the March numbers from City Building Inspector Jerry Wintonyk, released last week, six building permits were issued for $3,788,000. That compared to 10 building permits for $883,000 issued in March 2011.

Contributing to the rise was a building permit issued for $1,556,000 for a new condo. The other big jump was a commercial alteration permit for $1,920,000.

Those compared to none in these same categories in March 2011.

Permits were also issued for a new dwelling for $196,000, a residential alteration for $28,000, a sign permit for $38,000 and a removal/demolition for $50,000.

Overall, building permit values remain down for the first three months of 2012, though the number of permits issued is now up compared to last year. A total of 21 building permits were issued for $10,820,400, compared to 19 permits for $34,232,000 issued through March 2011.

Last year's permit value total had been bolstered, however, by two permits issued for the Credit Union CUPlex for $31 million.
