According to numbers released at the planning committee meeting Monday, six permits were issued for $749,500 in February. That is down one permit from the seven issued for $814,500 for the same month a year ago.

Among the permits for February was one new industrial permit for $383,000, three commercial alterations for $310,000 and two residential alterations for $56,500.

Overall, permit values are up for the year to date. A total of 15 permits have been issued for $1,562,500, compared to 11 permits for $1,049,500 a year ago.

“We’re right on track with building permits,” said Jennifer Niesink, director of planning and development.

As for construction projects underway right now, Lesmeister Construction is going forward with the building that would house Cheer Legacy Athletics on 109th Street.

As well, the components are starting to be built for the new Comfort Inn and Suites hotel project on Carlton Trail, according to City Manager Jim Puffalt.
