PINEHOUSE — Pinehouse RCMP's commander says attention to detail has helped keep a cache of cocaine from reaching the streets.
On Oct. 30, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Pinehouse RCMP stopped a vehicle at the junction of Key Lake Mine and Highway 914.
The officer observed marijuana and related paraphernalia in plain sight. During a resulting search of the vehicle, the officer located a number of small bags of cocaine within the vehicle’s gearshift console. Drug trafficking paraphernalia, cash and a stolen Alberta license plate were also seized from the vehicle.
“Because of this police officer’s keen attention to detail, we were able to keep drugs off the streets of our community,” says Sgt. Daniel Lozinski, Pinehouse RCMP’s Detachment Commander. “We are committed to keeping our community safe – it’s this kind of vigilance that helps us do that.”
As a result, a resident of Calgary is charged with possession of the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)and two counts of possession of the proceeds of crime/stolen property under $5,000.
