North Battleford Detachment of the RCMP had a hectic 24 hours dealing with impaired drivers on the weekend.
They reported that several arrests were made, with six persons arrested and charged with impaired driving.
At 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 5, police responded to a complaint of an impaired driver on 100th St. The vehicle was located and upon investigation they arrested a 29-year-old female from the Loon Lake area. She was taken to North Battleford Detachment to provide breath samples and is charged with impaired care and control of a motor vehicle and impaired care and control over 80 mg.
Police responded to a second impaired driving complaint that same day at 9 a.m. on Railway Ave. East.
A 22-year-old male from Lloydminster was arrested and taken to North Battleford Detachment to provide breath samples, and now faces charges for impaired care and control of a motor vehicle, impaired care and control over 80 mg and possession of a controlled substance.
That same day at 1:34 p.m., police attended a complaint on 17th Avenue, where a 55-year-old male from Battleford was located in his vehicle. He was arrested and taken to North Battleford Detachment for breath samples, and was also charged with impaired care and control of a motor vehicle and impaired care and control over 80 mg.
At 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 6, police stopped a vehicle on Highway 16 East. A check stop was in place, and a 38-year-old male from North Battleford was arrested after being noted for signs of intoxication. He was taken for breath samples and is now being charged for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and impaired operation over 80 mg.
Also, police say they had a check stop in place on Battleford Road when two more impaired drivers were located and arrested in the early morning hours of Oct. 6.
At 1:40 a.m. a 25-year-old female from North Battleford was arrested and taken for breath samples, and is now charged for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and impaired operation over 80 mg. At 2 a.m., police arrested a 21-year-old male from the Cut Knife area who was also taken for breath samples and is now charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and impaired operation over 80 mg.
All six of the accused persons were later released for a court date in North Battleford.
North Battleford Detachment is also seeking the public's assistance in a hit and run that occurred on 109th Street on Oct. 5. The suspect vehicle hit a parked truck and moved it forward about five feet. The vehicle they are looking for is described as a 1990 GMC truck, with extensive front-end damage.
