It started out as an investigation into a break-in and resulted in a plethora of charges ranging from break, enter and theft to thefts from vehicles and firearms charges.
Last week, Humboldt RCMP reported that sometime during the early morning hours of November 27, the Pilger Tavern was broken into.
The suspects involved broke into the building through the front door, and proceeded to take cases of beer and hard liquor into a waiting vehicle.
The police investigation into the break-in resulted in the arrest of an 18-year-old male, a 17-year-old male and 16-year-old female.
They were initially facing charges of break, enter and theft and possession of stolen property, along with charges connected with breaching court conditions.
But through the investigation into the break-in at Pilger, police linked the three to other incidents which have been occurring in Humboldt this fall - primarily thefts from unlocked vehicles.
As a result, all three are facing more charges, including numerous counts of thefts from motor vehicles, theft of firearms, and numerous other firearms-related offences, reported Cpl. Randy Wittig of the Humboldt RCMP.
The two males have also been charged with numerous breaches of court conditions.
The RCMP believe the three are associated with thefts from between 50 and 100 vehicles in the Humboldt area.
Once arrested on these charges, all three were remanded into police custody. They then appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on December 3 - they were scheduled to appear in Humboldt, but due to the storm, the appearance was moved to Saskatoon.
At their court appearance, they were remanded again into police custody, where they were to remain until a second appearance on Tuesday.
The name of the 18-year-old adult charged in this matter is Bradley Canevaro, 18, of Humboldt.
The other two involved cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
