Police cruiser sideswiped

North Battleford RCMP received approximately 60 calls for service between 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4 and 6 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5.

Friday

• A vehicle on the 1500 block of 110th Street had all of its windows smashed out sometime overnight.

• There was a report of a vehicle that had been broken into overnight on Clark Drive.

• A vehicle on Trudeau Street was broken into during the night.

• There was a third party complaint of an assault at 10:15 a.m. The alleged victim was located by officers and she said she was fine and didn’t want to report anything.

• There was a report at 1:30 p.m. on Winder Crescent that a motorist drove into an opened door of a parked vehicle, causing damage and minor injury to one individual, and then drove away. The driver has been identified and charges are pending.

• A police vehicle that had its emergency lights activated and had a vehicle pulled over on Highway 16 near Denholm around 2 p.m. was side-swiped by a passing vehicle. The vehicle that caused the damage stopped to assist and was co-operative with the investigation. No one was injured in the incident.

• There was a complaint of an assault at a residence in Saulteaux First Nation at 8:30 p.m. Officers attended the residence and the person causing problems was no longer there and no one in the home had injuries.

Saturday

• There was a report of an intoxicated driver on Battleford Road at 1:30 a.m. Officers located the vehicle and a 33-year-old man was arrested and charged and the vehicle was impounded.

• Around 2 a.m., the North Battleford Fire Department advised the RCMP that they were attending the 1300 block of 98th Street for a dumpster fire. 

• There was a report of an assault with a weapon at a residence on Saulteaux First Nation at 4:39 a.m. The incident is still being investigated.

In addition, there were five people arrested for alcohol related offences, eight disturbances reported, five traffic complaints, one vehicle collision, one nuisance 911 call and two false alarms.
