ONION LAKE — Two RCMP cruisers collided on Onion Lake First Nation Saturday, Sept. 19 during an attempt to arrest a male resident of the community in relation to a complaint of uttering threats.
Four members of the Onion Lake RCMP were involved in the crash. All members involved were transported to Lloydminster Hospital as a precaution and have since been released.
Police say the incident began at 4 p.m. when they responded to the complaint. The man being sought was spotted in a park in the community, but fled in a vehicle when police arrived. While attempting to initiate a stop of the suspect vehicle, the two police vehicles collided, causing one to roll onto the passenger side.
An RCMP Collision Reconstructionist from Prince Albert attended the scene.
The adult male was subsequently located and arrested. He remains in custody with changes pending.
The investigation is ongoing.
