Possible shots fired turns out to be firecrackers

Late Friday morning, Battlefords RCMP were called to what was described as a gunshot in the area of the 107/108th Street in the 1000 block. Police responded to the area and started the investigation.

Late Friday morning, Battlefords RCMP were called to what was described as a gunshot in the area of the 107/108th Street in the 1000 block.

Police responded to the area and started the investigation. While on scene officers heard a second loud bang in this same area.

The area was secured and it was quickly determined that someone was setting off a type of fire cracker.

As of Friday 1 p.m., no arrests had been made. The investigation is continuing.
