The City is now under a Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory, PDWA.

What happened?

There was an operations failure at the F.E. Holliday Water Treatment Plant.  The water treatment was shut down immediately.  As a precaution, the City and the Water Security Agency have issued a precautionary drinking water advisory to water users for the City of North Battleford.  Safety is our number one concern.

What should I do?

It is recommended that any water to be consumed be boiled for one minute before consuming.  The Saskatchewan Water Security Agency has issued recommended steps for water consumption.  Please refer to the Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory sheet issued by the Saskatchewan Water Security Agency.

When will the PDWA be lifted?

After further tests have been completed and all government, health and regulatory agencies are satisfied the water is safe.

Where do I get more information?

Contact Saskatchewan Water Security Agency Media Inquiries or the Prairie North Regional Health Authority for more information.

When was the last time there was a City wide boil water order?

The last City wide boil water order was in 2001. The City is always cautious when dealing with drinking water safety.
