Preliminary hearing dates have been set for two individuals accused of second-degree murder on Moosomin First Nation.

Taryn Cote and Troy Swiftwolfe will return to North Battleford Provincial Court Dec. 8 and 9.

The dates were set Tuesday in court before Judge David Kaiser, with Cote appearing by video from the corrections centre in Saskatoon.

Cote's lawyer Don MacKinnon was also present while Randy Kirkham appeared for Swiftwolfe, who was not present. MacKinnon noted in court that the Dec. 8 and 9 dates were the earliest available.

Swiftwolfe had been released from custody shortly after being charged in the February incident in which an individual died on Moosomin First Nation. Cote, who faces the same charge of second-degree murder, was also released from custody but ended up back in jail shortly after due to a breach of conditions.

Cote was ordered remanded to Dec. 8. A no-contact order also remains in effect.
