Between 6 a.m. Wednesday, July 1 and 6 a.m. Thursday, July 2 North Battleford RCMP responded to approximately 80 calls for service, including:
Wednesday, July 1
• There was a complaint of a male passed out on a lawn on the 800 block of 110th Street at 11 a.m. in the rain. The male was taken to the warm and dry shelter to continue his sleep.
• Around 2 p.m. there was a complaint of an intoxicated male that was stumbling across the road at 11th Avenue and 107th Street. Officers located a 19-year-old man matching the description in the area and found that he was on a probation order with conditions to abstain from the consumption of alcohol. He was arrested for breaching his conditions and then assaulted one of the officers. He was charged with breach of probation and assaulting a police officer and has appeared in court.
• Someone reported that their vehicle had been broken into overnight on Borden Crescent and items had been stolen out of it.
• There was a complaint of an intoxicated female knocking at a residence in Battleford at 8:10 p.m. The woman appeared to have been driving a vehicle and left it blocking the complainant’s driveway and she left the residence on foot. Upon further inspection, the woman’s vehicle appeared to have been involved in a collision with the complainant’s vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
• There was a report of an intoxicated driver on 100th Street at 8:51 p.m. The vehicle was located and stopped by an officer, and the driver tried to get away on foot, unsuccessfully. The driver, a 34-year-old man, was charged with impaired driving, flight from police and resisting arrest. He was held in custody and has appeared in court.
Thursday, July 1
• There was a report of an intoxicated woman banging on the door of a residence on 102nd Crescent at 3:17 a.m. Officers arrested an intoxicated female youth at that location and she was released to a parent when she was sober.
• Officers went to a residence on the 900 block of 105th Street after a complaint of a fight in progress. They arrested one 42-year-old man who had outstanding warrants and who had been involved in the fight, which appeared to be a verbal argument and not physical.
• Officers responded to a complaint at 4:45 a.m. of people yelling on the 1400 block of 101st Street. One of the people yelling, a 21-year-old man, was found intoxicated behind the wheel of a vehicle and was on a conditional sentence order and had conditions not to be driving. He was arrested and charged with impaired care or control of a vehicle and for breach of undertaking and was held in custody for court.
• There was a report of a smashed vehicle window that happened overnight in Battleford.
• Someone reported that their shed had been broken into overnight on the 900 block of 107th Street, and it appeared as though someone had tried to light it on fire as well.
• A car was stolen from outside a residence on Sweet Grass First Nation overnight. It is a black 1994 Mazda MX6 with Saskatchewan license plate 530 JSD.
During this time period, there were also two people arrested for alcohol related offences, eight disturbances reported, five traffic complaints, three nuisance 911 calls and two false alarms.
