Quad theft thwarted in Wilkie area

RCMP looking for information about a series of thefts

An alert resident of the RM of Buffalo in the Wilkie district successfully halted the theft of his quad June 12 at about 6:40 a.m.

According to police, the man heard a vehicle in his yard and heard his quad start and drive out of the yard. The resident jumped into his truck and followed his quad that he discovered was being loaded into the back of a white truck.

The owner of the quad described the suspect attempting to load his quad as being a First Nation male approximately 12 to 16 years of age with medium length black hair dressed in a grey hoodie with jeans.

The truck was driven away when the home owner approached and the quad, along with a pressure washer stolen from another residence that morning, fell out of the back of the truck when it took off towards Highway No. 29, police report. Also recovered were jerry cans, a lawn-mower and the spare wheel from the suspect vehicle, the make and model of which is unknown, according to RCMP.

Ownership of the pressure washer was established and pictures of several suspects involved in a break and enter from that same morning were caught on camera.  Unity RCMP are looking for any information on the identity of the suspects involved in these break-ins and thefts. Unity RCMP is also looking for information on ownership of the fuel cans and the wheel.

Anyone with information about the ownership of the vehicle or have knowledge of the identity of the suspects involved in these offenses is urged to contact the Unity RCMP at 306-228-6300, Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or *8477 on the SaskTel Mobility Network
