While the rest of the Battlefords were busy celebrating the New Year, Battlefords RCMP had their hands full, responding to 89 calls between 4 p.m. Dec. 31 and 4 p.m. Jan. 1.

The numbers are higher than average for the RCMP, though New Year's Eve is always a busy time, according to the police.

One of the calls to the RCMP was a single vehicle rollover near the CN railroad in North Battleford that occurred around 2 a.m. Sunday. The occupants all fled the scene but were located shortly afterwards. The driver, an 18-year-old woman, has been charged with impaired driving-related offences. Though the vehicle sustained substantial damage, there were no injuries reported.
