The investigation into the April 6 Humboldt Broncos bus accident continues, says the Saskatchewan RCMP.
The RCMP’s Collision Reconstruction Team and the Major Crimes Unit continue to work on the investigation, with an RCMP press release noting they are methodically analyzing the data and evidence gathered.
Once the RCMP is satisfied that all data has been collected and properly analyzed, a peer review will be conducted to validate the findings and their conclusions, a process the RCMP says is normal in any complex investigation.
“Investigators are also preparing for Crown consultation at the conclusion of the investigation which occurs in many serious, sensitive, and complex investigations,” said the RCMP.
With the nature of the investigation being complex, and the investigation being dynamic, the RCMP says they cannot provide an estimate as to when the investigation might be complete, noting what investigators learn each day can influence what actions will need to be taken in the days following.
“We are all anxious to learn the results of this investigation to assist in understanding what led to this terrible tragedy,” said Supt. Derek Williams, Officer in Charge of Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes in the release.
