TISDALE — The Recorder continues to offer commercial print to customers in Tisdale and the surrounding area, although as of this week, production will be moved to Weyburn.

“Our sister paper, the Weyburn Review, has recently upgraded its commercial print facility,” said Recorder publisher Valerie Durnin. “With the move, we are able to take advantage of some new technology that will improve our products."

“At the same time, streamlining our commercial print operations will help us control costs, which is important to the strength of our newspaper business,” Durnin said.

The publication of The Recorder will not be affected by this change. The Tisdale-based newspaper will continue to be distributed Thursdays to the town and surrounding area, including Melfort and Nipawin.

As a result of the change, two staff positions in Tisdale were eliminated.

“It’s a difficult decision, but the change is necessary as we face a rapidly evolving newspaper industry,” Durnin said.
