The Frenchman Butte Museum will host a Queen's Diamond Jubilee Anniversary Complimentary Tea this Victoria Day afternoon, on the museum grounds at Frenchman Butte.
The museum will be open to allow visitors to tour the eight exhibit buildings, beginning at 10 am, and the official ceremonies on stage will begin at 1 pm with complimentary tea, sandwiches and snacks being available beginning at noon.
The on stage program will include speeches by local dignitaries, musical and dance entertainment, as well as royal memory presentations. The prize winners for the school student Diamond Jubilee Competitions that have been the focus of several schools in the area over the past weeks will be awarded by museum president, Tom Hougham.
This royal anniversary honouring occasion is the kick-off event for the museum's summer operations. Normal open days are weekends from May 19 through to July 1 when hours increase to seven days a week for the summer, closing at the end of the long weekend in September. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
