It was a busy weekend for Battlefords RCMP as the responded to more than 70 calls/occurrences between 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10 and 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13.
More than 25 arrests were made for a variety of offences.
Police also responded to six alarms, with three proving to be false. Three nuisance/false 911 calls were placed.
Friday
7:50 a.m. - Vehicle versus deer collision on Highway 16 Bypass. Minor damage to vehicle.
11:14 a.m. - Gas and dash reported on Highway 16 Bypass. Subject of complaint later returned to pay for same after realizing error.
1:30 p.m. - Report of a young child left unattended in a vehicle parked in a parking lot off Territorial Drive north. Prior to police arrival, father of child returned and left area. Unknown how long child was left unattended. Matter remains under investigation.
3:10 p.m. - Report of Facebook postings over a disagreement over pizza.
7:20 p.m. - Unwanted man at residence on Trudeau Street. 34-year-old man arrested for mischief and held until sober. No charges pursued.
8:15 p.m. - 911 call to same address as previous complaint, reporting the same man was at the residence assaulting caller's sister. After confirming there was no magic teleportation device in cells the man could have been using, caller was advised the matter had been dealt with an hour earlier.
9:16 p.m. - Unwanted and intoxicated female at residence on 108th Street. Subject left when police called.
9:34 p.m. - Complaint of harassment. Remains under investigation.
10:34 p.m. - 911 call from subject reporting she was stopped at the train crossing and was demanding members attend to move the train as she was waiting at the crossing for eight minutes now and she was on her way to Calgary. She was advised members would absolutely not be attending to move the train but would gladly attend to charge her for making a frivolous 911 call. She decided to wait for the train to move on its own.
10:40 p.m. - 17-year-old youth charged with failing to comply with probation after a curfew check on Foley Drive.
11:18 p.m. - Break and enter to a garage on 112th Street. Door damaged but no items reported missing or tampered with.
11:35 p.m. - 46-year-old woman arrested on 114th Street for breach of conditional sentence order. Held in custody and to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court Monday.
11:39 p.m. - Suspicious person knocking on a window at a residence on 106th Street then running away. Patrols negative.
11:42 p.m. - Suspicious person walking on bridges, very difficult to see by passing motorists. Subject located and provided a ride by members to a residence in city.
Saturday
12:00 a.m. - 53-year-old man arrested on 103rd Street, found in violations of conditions of an undertaking. Released on charges when sober.
12:23 a.m. - 23-year-old woman arrested on 101st Street for public intoxication, located by patrolling members.
1:31 a.m. - Report of a fight/disturbance at a bar. 34-year-old man arrested after being involved in an earlier altercation and refusing to leave. Facing two counts of failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking.
1:31 a.m. - While dealing with previous matter, a 52-year-old man was observed to be intoxicated and found to be on conditions not to consume alcohol. Arrested and facing one count of failing to comply with an undertaking.
2:06 a.m. - Report of a vehicle's windows damaged on 114th Street.
2:15 a.m. - Report of intoxicated people banging on door to residence and trying to egg the house on 107th Street. Then reported they were now OK. It was different people banging on the door, but someone was still trying to egg the house. Patrols in area negative.
2:20 a.m. - Caller witnessed a deer on the road and is now following the deer, which is wandering around town and is wondering what they should do. Possibly stop following the deer and keep going wherever it is the caller was going.
2:35 a.m. - Intoxicated people/unwanted guests at a hotel. Two women, aged 44 and 20, located and arrested for mischief. Held in custody until sober.
2:47 a.m. - 26-year-old man arrested and charged with obstruction and resisting arrest after a vehicle stop on 110th Street. Subject provided a false name. Also found to have warrants for arrest out of Saskatoon. Held in custody to appear in court Monday.
3:29 a.m. - Report of intoxicated guests at hotel causing a disturbance. Two subjects removed from premises without incident. No arrests/charges.
3:32 a.m. - Unwanted intoxicated person at a residence on 109th Street. 36-year-old man arrested and held in custody until sober.
5:54 a.m. - 18-year-old man arrested and facing charges of impaired driving after vehicle check on 12th Avenue and 102nd Street.
6:12 a.m. - Report of two suspicious persons knocking on a door to a residence on 112th Street. Suspects located near scene. 15-year-old male youth provided false name and found to be in violation of conditions of an undertaking. Arrested and charged with obstruction, and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. He has been remanded and is set to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court Monday. 17-year-old youth also arrested, held in custody until sober.
7:58 a.m. - Unwanted intoxicated person at a residence on 110th Street. 19-year-old woman arrested and held in custody until sober.
9:20 a.m. - Report of an assault near or at a residence on Douglas Avenue. Alleged victim was very intoxicated and provided inconsistent information. No injuries noted. Transported to a safe residence and investigation ongoing.
10:50 a.m. - Hit and run on 10th Avenue. Complaint's vehicle struck by a dark mini van that failed to stop and exchange information. No injuries reported.
3:23 p.m. - Two-vehicle collision on 20th Avenue. No injuries, both vehicles had to be towed from scene. Male driver of one vehicle has been charged with failing to yield at an intersection.
5:23 p.m. - 911 call of an assault on 106th Street. Witnesses reported seeing a man grabbing a woman by the hair and subjects were now all in a residence on the 1200 block. Members attended and a 53-year-old man was arrested on scene. Several statements have been taken and matter remains under investigation. No charges have yet been laid on this matter.
8:12 p.m. - 23-year-old man arrested and charged under Liquor Act for public intoxication after report of man causing a disturbance on 100th Street.
10:48 p.m. - Report of a man trying to steal a vehicle at a dealership. 22-year-old man located on scene and arrested. During arrest the man made numerous threats to sexually assault the arresting officer. Man has been charged with theft of a vehicle, mischief, uttering threats and two counts of failing to comply with probation. Subject has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to make his first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court Monday.
Sunday
3:30 p.m. - Theft of a cell phone reported, occurred sometime over previous evening.
5:30 p.m. - Theft/shoplifting incident on 1800 block of 100th Street. Suspect fled scene in a red Grand Am.
6:05 p.m. - Vehicle reported stolen. Suspect known to complainant. Vehicle later recovered and charges not pursued as per wishes of complainant.
Monday
4:55 a.m. - Report of several intoxicated persons at a hotel causing a disturbance. Members attended and arrested five subjects for causing a disturbance. A 34-year-old woman was found to be on conditions and charges are pending.
