Rivers West District for Sport, Culture & Recreation is disappointed to announce that due to extreme weather and the unpredictability of the weather throughout the course of today, the 2018 Volunteer Recognition Awards Banquet is cancelled. The banquet was to take place on Tuesday, April 17, at 6 p.m. in Kyle.
Unfortunately, we are not afforded the luxury of waiting to see if the weather and highways improve due to the fact that some of the recipients are from the northern part of our District. Our volunteers and staff are very important to us and we will not put anyone’s safety at risk to attend the awards banquet.
All meal ticket monies will be refunded. Arrangements will be made to present award recipients their awards at a later date.
This is the first time in the history of the Rivers West District Volunteer Recognition Awards Banquet that the banquet has had to be cancelled. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.
