Robbery with a knife being investigated

It was a busy Monday shift for Battlefords RCMP when more than 40 calls for service/occurrences were responded to between 6 a.m. Monday, April 21 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, April 22.

It was a busy Monday shift for Battlefords RCMP when more than 40 calls for service/occurrences were responded to between 6 a.m. Monday, April 21 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, April 22.


Among those were six false alarms, two false/nuisance 911 calls, three traffic related complaints and five noise/municipal bylaw complaints.


Monday


7:05 a.m. - Vehicle on 8th Avenue had a rock thrown through a window sometime during the night.


7:33 a.m. - 2010 red Ford Escape XLT with Saskatchewan Licence 858 IRH stolen from 1700 block of 103rd Street.


12:03 p.m. - 911 call to a residence on 110th Street, intoxicated and unwanted person attended residence, then left when police called.


2:47 p.m. - Report of a grass fire off 110th Street. Fire Department and members attended, found a small fire that was quickly extinguished. No suspects identified.


2:54 p.m. - Report of harassment regarding unwanted communication with a former partner. Suspect located and warned.


6:04 p.m. - Missing person complaint. Hannah Bolig, 13, last seen on 1700 block of 100th Street. She has blonde hair, wearing black jeans, black jacket, and pink and purple high top shoes. She is approximately 5' 3" and 110 lbs.


6:18 p.m. - Report of an assault in a parking lot at Frontier Mall. Complainant was grabbed by the arm and yelled at over an issue with a parking space. No injuries. Suspect described as an elderly woman who left the area in a white Ford extended cab pickup. Incident occurred around 5 p.m.


6:25 p.m. - 19-year-old woman arrested for mischief after report of unwanted, intoxicated person at a residence on 110th Street. Same persons involved in the 12:03 p.m. complaint.


7:43 p.m. - 49-year-old man arrested for public intoxication in alley off 105th Street.


8:21 p.m. - Shoplifting complaint from a business on Carlton Train. Man described as being First Nation, 6' tall wearing jeans, red hoody and a black hat fled a store after allegedly stealing headphones.


9:13 p.m. - A 41-year-old man arrested for mischief after report of an intoxicated man passed out at a restaurant who would not wake up.


9:36 p.m. - Report of two missing girls from a youth group home. Dianna McCallum, 15, has short hair, wearing knee-length red shorts, black jacket, blue sweater. Shailynia Chartier, 14, was wearing grey sweater/hoody, grey sweatpants. Last seen at approximately 7 p.m.


10:03 p.m. - Suspicious man reported looking into a vehicle on 1400 block of 103rd Street. Did not gain entry and fled area when he noticed he was being watched.


11:33 p.m. - Report of a person yelling and screaming on 106th Street. Three female youth, ages 14, 15 and 15, located and arrested for public intoxication and charged under Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act.


Tuesday


1:00 a.m. - 43-year-old man arrested after report of an intoxicated person sleeping in the bathroom of the hospital. Charged with one count of failing to comply with probation for consuming alcohol.


1:26 a.m. - North Battleford RCMP are investigating a robbery which occurred in a hotel room shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday April 22. Two males, one armed with a knife, gained entry into a hotel room and pushed one victim down onto the floor before taking several personal items and fleeing the scene. There were three persons staying in the room at the time of this incident. The victims were not injured in the attack. Initial investigation indicates the suspects may have entered the wrong room and the victims in this matter were not the suspect's intended targets. Both suspects are described as being First Nation, one was wearing glasses, 6'1" tall, heavier set with a blue windbreaker, the second 5'8", wearing a darker sweater. Surveillance footage from the scene is in the process of being reviewed.
