Rollover leads to arrest for vehicle theft

Police are seeking this person in connection with a shoplifting incident at a businesson the 1000 block of 101st Street at 12:19 p.m. Friday.

Battlefords RCMP responded to 183 calls for service between 6 a.m. Thursday, June 25 and 6 a.m. Sunday, June 28.

Thursday

• Call of a break and enter, reported at 8:39 a.m., believed to have occurred sometime between 6 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. the previous date at a business on 8th Avenue. Nothing reported missing, a fire extinguisher was set off inside the building. A short time later police also received a report of a fire extinguisher being set off on a vehicle on 107th Street.

• Call at 10:18 a.m. reporting damage to a vehicle sometime June 23 or 24 while parked on Railway Avenue East.

• Call at 4:16 p.m. of a shoplifting incident at a business on the 1000 block of 101st Street. Male suspect described as wearing sunglasses, green Roughrider t-shirt, with black and white shorts and a dark cap.  

Friday

• Report at 6:28 a.m. of two vehicles parked on the 1200 block of 98th Street overnight rifled through.

• Report of a single vehicle rollover near Delmas at 6:35 a.m. Persons involved reported to have left area in a second vehicle and later located and arrested as both the truck involved in the Delmas rollover and the second vehicle located by police near Warman were found to be stolen. A 17-year-old male youth from Edmonton is facing a charge of possession of stolen property in relation to the rollover near Delmas.

• Report of a business on the 100 block of 24th Street in Battleford had graffiti inscribed on it sometime over the previous evening.

• At 8:59 a.m. a complaint was made of a vehicle parked overnight on the 1000 block of 110th Street that was gone through.

• Report at 11:12 a.m. of a bus parked on the 1100 block of 111th Street was entered and some items taken sometime overnight.

• Report of an assault at a residence on the 1400 block of 105th Street at 12:16 p.m. Incident found to have occurred approximately eight hours earlier. Charges are currently pending against a 22-year-old man for assault in connection to this investigation.

• Call of a shoplifter at a business on the 1000 block of 101st Street at 12:19 p.m. Male suspect described as Caucasian, wearing a white muscle shirt.

• Report at 1:48 p.m. of a fraudulently used credit card in Battleford. Incident in question occurred June 5.

• Break and enter to a residence on the 800 block of 108th Street reported at 4:12 p.m. Believed to have occurred sometime earlier in the afternoon or morning.

• Call of graffiti to a garbage bin on 18th Street East in Battleford received at 5 p.m.

• 28-year-old woman arrested on Highway 4 north of North Battleford at 6:15 p.m. and facing charges that include failure to comply with an undertaking after a vehicle check at that location.

• Call at 8:05 p.m. reporting a shoplifting incident at a business on the 1000 block of 101st Street. Three suspects were located and arrested a short distance away and the property recovered. A 23-year-old man is facing charges of resisting arrest, possession of stolen property and two counts of breach of probation. Another 23-year-old man is facing charges of theft under $5,000, uttering threats and two counts of breach of probation. A 20-year-old woman is being charged with possession of stolen property.

• A 26-year old woman is facing charges of impaired driving, refusing to provide a breath sample and mischief after a report of a vehicle colliding with a house on the 1400 block of 106th Street at 9:04 p.m.

• 16-year-old youth facing charges of being unlawfully at large after a report at 9:44 p.m. of subject escaping from a youth facility. Subject was located and arrested at about 5 p.m. June 27. He will be making his first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court Monday,

Saturday

• Report of a theft of cab fare after a female suspect had a cab drive her from a location out of town before fleeing without paying on St. Laurent Drive at 3:33 a.m. 

• 911 call to a residence near Cochin reporting an assault at 4:14 a.m. Suspect and victim know each other. No injuries or medical attention required and matter remains under investigation.

• 17-year-old youth arrested and facing two counts of breach of probation after a report at 4:18 a.m. of intoxicated youths running around in a yard in North Battleford.

• Call at 9:56 a.m. reporting a tire slashed on a vehicle parked on the 1100 block of 108th Street sometime overnight.

• A 50-year-old man arrested and charged with one count of theft under $5,000 after a reported shoplifting incident at the Frontier Mall at 10:58 a.m.

• Police called to a residence on the Saulteaux First Nation at 1:19 p.m. reporting an unwanted person was attempting to gain entry to the home and had damaged the door. A 23-year-old man was located and arrested and is currently facing one count of mischief to property under $5,000.

• Police called to the 1800 block of 101st Street at 1:39 p.m. on a report of several individuals assaulting a man. Police arrived and located the victim on scene who was transported by ambulance suffering from head and facial injuries. Three suspects were later identified as being responsible for the incident. A 34-year-old man was arrested in June 28 on St. Laurent Drive, while the two other suspects, a 29-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, were arrested at a residence on 101st Street a short time later. All three are charged with aggravated assault and will be held in custody until their first appearance in North Battleford Monday.

• Report at 2:02 p.m. of a shoplifting incident at a business on 1st Avenue in Battleford. Suspect located in a vehicle south bound on Highway 4. Two males, a 20-year-old adult and 17-year-old youth, arrested and property recovered. Both facing one count each of theft under $5,000.

• Report of shoplifting from a business on the 500 block of 5th Avenue in Battleford at 6:07 p.m.

• Attempted theft from a business on Carlton Trail at 8:12 p.m. Property was recovered by the store and suspect fled on foot. 

• A stolen vehicle from the city of North Battleford recovered abandoned on the 900 block of 113th Street at 8:22 p.m. 

Sunday

• Vehicle reported stolen at 1:24 a.m. from Battlesprings Lane was located a short time later by police abandoned.

• At 2:23 a.m. police arrested a youth on the 1100 block of 111th Street and have laid one charge of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, as the subject was located in possession of a concealed knife.

• At 4:17 a.m. police received a call of suspicious people in a vehicle on 107th Street. As a result of complaint two males were taken into custody and later linked to several incidents of vehicle mischief in the city of North Battleford and town of Battleford over the past week, including some where a pellet gun was used to damage vehicle windows. Both are facing several counts of mischief with additional charges in the coming days likely. Several other suspects are also facing numerous charges, but have yet to be located.

Police also arrested 26 people for alcohol related offences, and responded to 10 false 911 calls, 37 traffic matters, 26 disturbance complaints, 13 alarms, six Mental Health Act matters, three collisions and four missing persons, all of whom have been located and 1 collision.
