Sarcan is closing all of its recycling facilities across the province for an indefinite period of time in response to the pandemic.

Its facilities can be found in Humboldt, Tisdale, Melfort, Nipawin, Porcupine Plain, Naicam, Watson and Lanigan.

The recycler said at this time, all of its hourly workers will continue to receive pay in alignment with their usually scheduled hours.

“Our employees are Sarcan’s greatest asset,” said Amy McNeil, the executive director. “We are committed to doing everything we can to keep our employees healthy, safe and financially secure during these unpredictable times.”

Sarcan said they are committed to reopening the Sarcan network once it is safe to do so.

"We encourage customers to save their deposit beverage containers, paint, and electronics for their next Sarcan visit once we reopen," said a media release from the recycler.
