Saskatoon man charged with murder in death on Beardy's

RCMP have released the name of 22-year-old Cody Tait of Saskatoon as the man killed on Beardy’s and Okemasis Cree Nation.

BEARDY’S AND OKEMASIS CREE NATION — A Saskatoon man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the death of 22-year-old Cody Tait, also of Saskatoon, which occurred on Beardy’s and Okemasis Cree Nation.

As result of investigation, Robbie Cameron, 28, of Saskatoon was arrested on March 29. He was remanded to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on March 30.

The investigation continues and officers believe there are additional suspects.

RCMP say that on March 27 at approximately 5:50 p.m., Rosthern RCMP received a report of a shooting on Beardy’s and Okemasis Cree Nation.

Officers located an injured male on a road in the community. Despite life-saving efforts, the male was later pronounced deceased at the scene. His family has been notified.
