SaskTel employees give back to Battlefords

Employees of SaskTel in the Battlefords and district have given back to the community again through the TelCare Program. In total, North Battleford and District TelCare will be donating $18,225 to 15 organizations.

In total, North Battleford and District TelCare will be donating $18,225 to 15 organizations. The organizations receiving the funds are the Alzheimer Society, Arthritis Society, Battlefords Humane Society, Battlefords United Way, Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Jack Kemp Community School, the Kidney Foundation, KidsFirst North, Lloydminster and District United Way, Macklin and District Health Foundation, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Parkinson Society and Salvation Army Meadow Lake.

SaskTel Telcare is a voluntary organization of SaskTel employees who contribute money through payroll deduction, SaskTel will donate 50 cents for every dollar contributed by employees through TelCare.

Around the province TelCare estimated it would be contributing $350,000 to non-profits in 2011.

In a statement, Ron Styles, SaskTel president and CEO, said SaskTel employees "have supported non-profit groups through payroll deduction for more than 60 years. SaskTel is proud to support TelCare in its ongoing efforts to improve quality of life in Saskatchewan communities."
