Saulteaux Heritage School organized this year’s fishing derby on Murray Lake recently.
“There weren’t as many participants as last year for a number of reasons, such as holding it on a Monday instead of the middle of the week, but next year will be even better,” Miranda Moccasin commented. A one-pound jackfish was the total catch, but all the participants enjoyed the day and were even more excited when some went home with prizes.
