School break-in investigated

It was a busy Saturday night for Battlefords RCMP as members responded to more than 40 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Saturday, April 19 and 6 a.m. Sunday, April 20.

It was a busy Saturday night for Battlefords RCMP as members responded to more than 40 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Saturday, April 19 and 6 a.m. Sunday, April 20.

Among those class were four false alarms and two false/nuisance 911 calls.

Saturday

8:25 a.m. - Report of damage to a fence, shed and vehicle in the 900 block of 112th Street.

8:36 a.m. - Report of break and enter into a garage in the 1000 block of 113th Street. A vehicle was also damaged. Both incidents are likely related.

1:08 p.m. - Report of a vehicle rummaged through on Blue Jay Crescent. Items were stolen from the vehicle.

2:12 p.m. - Report of an intoxicated man passed out at the mall. A 34-year-old man was located, arrested, lodged in cells and charged for being drunk in public.

2:42 p.m. - Report of break and enter to a school. Windows broken. Still under investigation.

7:29 p.m. - Report of a man following three people on 108th Street. A 38-year-old man was located, intoxicated, arrested and lodged in cells until sober. Also arrested for outstanding warrants.

11:26 p.m. - Report of an intoxicated woman in the middle of the street on Asquith Avenue. Police arrested and charged a 31-year-old woman for being drunk in public, lodged in cells until sober.

Sunday

1:11 a.m. - Police stopped a vehicle on 14th Avenue. The 22-year-old male driver was arrested and charged for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The passenger, a 32-year-old man, was drunk as well and began causing issues at the scene. He was also arrested and lodged in cells until sober.

5:10 a.m. - Police stopped a vehicle on Diefenbaker Drive. A 20-year-old woman was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.The woman is now charged with impaired operation, driving while over80mg, driving without headlights on and driving without a valid drivers' licence.
