Greg Tootoosis made a quick stop at the Day N Nite Deli to grab a newspaper, but he came away with much more.
The North Battleford resident also purchased four $2 Blackjack Scratch 'n Win tickets, and one of them turned out to be a $21,000 winner.
"I scratched the tickets when I got home," recalled Tootoosis. "When I noticed I won $21,000, I thought, 'How could I have won this? I must be playing the game wrong.'"
So, Tootoosis called the 1-800 number on the ticket the next day and verified he really had won the game's top prize.
Greg purchased his $2 ticket at the Day N Nite Deli, located on 1951 St. Laurent Drive North in North Battleford.
Tootoosis says he plans to put his winnings in the bank for now.
