Battlefords RCMP are reporting multiple search warrants were executed and five arrests made on Tuesday night in connection to the recent violence.

On Tuesday evening, Dec. 5, RCMP executed multiple search warrants related to an ongoing investigation in the detachment area. There was increased police presence at a residence on the 200 block of 33rd St. in Battleford, at a hotel room in North Battleford, and in the parking lot of a business on Railway Avenue east in North Battleford.

According to the RCMP, multiple members and support units were on scene "including the RCMP Emergency Response Team on Railway Avenue to ensure the safety of the public - always our number one priority. While no firearms were discharged in relation to this investigation, other tools that produce similar sounds when discharged were used."

Seized items were seized, say police, which include two firearms, a quantity of substances suspected to be cocaine and crystal meth, and other drug paraphernalia.

Two adult males and three adult females were arrested without incident by members; however, no charges have been laid and the investigation is ongoing. Police say they will provide updates when available. No injuries were reported.
