The Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is planning its second ears and beers night for Friday, Sept.18.

Corn on the cob was on the menu last year and will be again this year as friends of the Hall of Fame gather to raise funds for the operation of the museum and a chance to win some prizes.

Taking place at the Legion Hall in Battleford, happy hour starts at 4:30 p.m. and dinner will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. For tickets, contact the Hall of Fame.

A non-profit association organized in 1983, Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum has never received financial support from either the provincial or federal government. It operates through membership fees, donations and fundraisers.

Open throughout the year from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, the museum houses a display of memorabilia including uniforms, photographs, baseball bats, baseballs, equipment, trophies and more, including the David W. Shury Memorial Library.

There are more events planned for the remainder of the year as well.

The volunteer and Christmas party is set for Dec. 9 and the museum open house is set for Dec. 15.
