Semi headlights stolen

The Maidstone RCMP are reporting a week with 66 occurrences between May 29 and June 4. Some of the most common calls received were related to impaired driving, traffic complaints and collisions.

Calls of Interest

May 29, in the RM of Britannia near Range Road 3271 a report of a suspicious person was received by police. Police attended and located a 43-year-old man from Greenstreet intoxicated and operating a half-ton truck in an erratic manner. The man was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and his vehicle was impounded for a minimum of 30 days. The man was released for court.

May 30, two reports of motor vehicle collisions with wildlife were reported. Neither incident resulted in injuries. The Maidstone RCMP would like to remind motorist to remain cognizant of wildlife on our roadways, obey the traffic laws and to remain safe.

June 2, a report of theft was dispatched to police. A semi truck that was parked near Marshall had the headlight assemblies stolen. The investigation is ongoing.

June 3, a report of two individuals engaged in intimate relations at the trout pond east of Lloydminster was called in to police. Police attended and found a 56-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman at the location that matched the descriptions provided by a passerby. Both were detained. The investigation is ongoing.

June 4, multiple dispatches were received regarding a motor vehicle collision on Highway 16 between Maidstone and Paynton. Police attended with Maidstone Ambulance, Lloydminster Rescue Squad and Maidstone Fire Department and found that a semi pulling a trailer had collided with several cattle that were at large on the Highway. The semi forced a small car to take evasive action as well. EMS treated the driver of the smaller car on scene and transported the semi driver to a nearby hospital. RCMP had to put down two injured animals. No charges are expected to be laid.

Tires Found

May 16th, RCMP were called to Lashburn to recover some found quad tires. The Maidstone RCMP have not had any reports of stolen quad tires. If you are missing some tires please contact the Maidstone RCMP 306-893-4800 and provide a description of the missing tires.
