UPDATE: The scene has been cleared by the RCMP. There is still some clean up occurring off the roadway, however, traffic flow should not be adversely affected. Eastbound traffic on Highway 16 approaching the Battlefords from Lloydminster should be prepared to slow down as the overpass until the clean up is completed some time later this afternoon or early evening.
Both occupants of the semi truck are still being treated but are expected to fully recover.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation at this time.
BACKGROUND: At 2:30 p.m., Battlefords RCMP were informing the public they are at the scene of a semi unit roll over on the Highway 16 Bypass near the town of Battleford. The driver and passenger of the unit transporting lumber have been transported to Battlefords Union Hospital with non-serious injuries and police remain on scene. Eastbound traffic should be aware of the incident, as traffic has slowed down in the area, but delays are not expected at this time.
