Semi-truck knocks over traffic sign on Railway Avenue

The North Battleford RCMP detachment was busy over the Labour Day weekend. They received more than 134 calls for service between 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2.

The North Battleford RCMP detachment was busy over the Labour Day weekend. They received more than 134 calls for service between 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2.


The calls included, but were not limited to, 19 municipal bylaw or disturbance complaints, eight false alarms, six child welfare complaints, eight traffic investigations, nine 911 Act complaints, two lost or found item complaints, one Mental Health Act, one fire prevention and two animal calls.


Here is a brief summary of calls over the long weekend.


Friday


8:53 a.m. - Report of theft of solar lights from an address on 110th Street.


10:55 a.m. - Report of theft of a video game console and games from an address on 100th Street. Investigation ongoing.


3:35 p.m. - Report of an impaired driver. Members located the suspect and arrested for impaired operation of motor vehicle. Released for court.


10:30 p.m. - Report of intoxicated man located on school grounds. Arrested for being intoxicated in public, searched and marijuana was found on him.


Saturday


7:29 a.m. - Report of damage to a few greens at the golf course from an ATV. Incident occurred the weekend previous to when it was reported.


9:20 a.m. - Report of an intoxicated man passed out under the bridge. Members attended. The man was arrested on outstanding warrants and held for court.           


Sunday


2:39 a.m. -During a traffic stop, a woman was arrested for having in her possession several knives and what is believed to be a controlled substance. Charges will be pursued on this incident.


1:56 p.m. - Report of theft of lawn mower from a yard on 100th Street.


5:41 p.m. - Report of a rock thrown through a window at the Agriplex.


8:20 p.m. - Report that people partying at an address on 107th Street were  maced. An adult man has been arrested and charged in relation to this incident.


10:40 p.m. - During a traffic stop, a man was arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance and other drug related paraphernalia. Charges are being pursued in relation to this incident.


Monday


1:58 a.m. - Report of a fight at a local licensed premise involving firearms. This investigation is ongoing. Four individuals have been arrested in relation to this incident.


4:54 a.m. - While on patrol, a member observed a semi hauling a trailer on Railway Avenue conducting a U-turn in front of the court house knocking over a traffic sign. The semi was pulled over and soon after the driver was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and refusal to provide samples.
