Seniors' fun day hosted

The Saskatchewan Seniors Fitness Association held their annual meeting and fun day at the Maidstone Seniors' Drop In Centre on April 24. Registration was at 9:30 a.m.

The Saskatchewan Seniors Fitness Association held their annual meeting and fun day at the Maidstone Seniors' Drop In Centre on April 24.

Registration was at 9:30 a.m. with 37 seniors in attendance from Rosetown, Hafford, North Battleford, Cut Knife, Unity, Neilburg, St. Walburg and Maidstone.

Coffee and muffins were provided by Maidstone seniors for those who arrived from a distance.

Twenty-one senior bowlers, after registering, went to the local bowling alley. Ten card players stayed at the centre and some played Kaiser and some played Cribbage.

Maidstone seniors provided a noon lunch attended by 37.

Following lunch the SSFA annual meeting was held. Chairperson Ollie Marcinik was in charge and all appointed officers remained the same as last year.

Following the meeting's adjournment Doreen Hope, director at large, announced the fun day winners: bowling ladies' high single - Denise Newton; ladies' high triple - Denise Newton; men's high single - Les Wardrop; men's high triple - Les Wardrop; Cribbage high score - Dorothy Schwartz, runner up Dorothy Forbes; Kaiser high score - Yvonne and Ted Beeching.

A number of prizes were given out. Winners were Ron Ogg , Kay Ogg, Rose Leithser, Denise Newton, Jean McCall, Harold and Mona Bulloch, Jean Stewart, Eva Inkster, Doris Rendle, Walter Pooler and John Coid.

Doreen thanked everyone for attending and the centre for the use of their facility and catering the luncheon.
