Several charges after group home disturbance

North Battleford RCMP responded to over 20 calls between 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27.

Four persons were arrested for alcohol related offences. Other situations included three traffic investigations, two minor disturbance complaints, two minor collisions, two alarms responded to and two Mental Health Act investigations.

Monday

• Call of a disturbance at a group home at 8:44 a.m. A 13-year-old youth was arrested on scene and is facing charges of assault, mischief under $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats and failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking. Subject is alleged to have broken several windows at the home, struck the staff several times and was found in possession of a knife at the time of his arrest. Subject remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

• Report made in the morning of an assault on 102nd Crescent from the morning of Friday, Jan. 23, altercation between two youth who know each other. Investigation ongoing.

• Report of a theft of gasoline from a business on the Highway 16 Bypass shortly after 2 p.m. Suspect said to have filled up a jerry can with gasoline then ran away. Suspect described as wearing grey sweat pants and a dark blue hoodie.
