RMs OF ST. PETER, LAKE LENORE AND THREE LAKES — Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the communities of Muenster, Lake Lenore, Middle Lake, St. Benedict and St. Brieux, as well as the RMs of St. Peter, Lake Lenore and Three Lakes.

The warning was issued 6:18 pm on June 2.

There are two severe thunderstorms near Lenore Lake and St. Gregor that are moving moving eastward at 30 kilometres per hour. Environment Canada said it's tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.

“Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches,” the warning from Environment Canada said. “Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors.”

UPDATE: The alert ended at 6:42 pm.
