Sex assault adjournment

A man accused of sexual assault on North Battleford's walking trail has been remanded in custody to Wednesday. Returning to court on Oct.

A man accused of sexual assault on North Battleford's walking trail has been remanded in custody to Wednesday.

Returning to court on Oct. 10 is the case against Chad Weasel, charged with sexual assault and two charges of failure to comply with conditions of an undertaking following two alleged incidents on the North Battleford walking trail Sept. 28.

Weasel appeared again in provincial court Friday morning before Judge Lorna Dyck. In that appearance, Weasel's counsel requested an update to the bail verification report that had been filed with the court Thursday morning.

The indication in court last Thursday was that the report was not favourable to Weasel. His court appearance on Wednesday is for a scheduled bail hearing.

In addition to his North Battleford charges, Weasel faces two separate Alberta charges - one of failure to appear and one of assault with a weapon. It is expected those matters will be dealt with after a decision on bail is made in North Battleford.
