Between 6 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5 and 6 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6 North Battleford RCMP responded to approximately 58 calls for service.
Wednesday, Aug. 5
• There was a report at 7:08 a.m. that a property in rural Cochin was broken into overnight and electronics had been stolen.
• There was a complaint made that a window was smashed on Sweet Grass First Nation over the weekend in a community building.
• A female youth who had been reported missing in Edmonton was located at a home in Mosquito First Nation. Officers worked with social services to arrange for the girl to be transported safely back to Edmonton.
• Someone reported at 10:22 a.m. there was damage to his vehicle that had been parked on the 1300 block of 99th Street overnight.
• There was a car accident involving two vehicles on Highway 16, east of North Battleford, around 11:45 a.m. No one was injured in the crash and one vehicle had to be towed from the highway.
• Officers went to a residence on St. Laurent Drive just after 1 p.m. to assist with a couple that was having a heated argument. The dispute was not physical, and officers separated the two people to allow them to cool down for a while.
• There was a report at 5:51 p.m. of vandalism to a vehicle that had been parked on Kildeer Drive overnight.
• A Community Safety Officer stopped a vehicle around 8:30 p.m. on 13th Avenue. The driver, a 28-year-old male, was charged with driving while disqualified and was released from custody to appear in court at a later date.
• At 10:52 p.m. there was a complaint of a belligerent man at a business on Railway Avenue East. The 39-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats. He was taken to the hospital to receive any medical treatment that may have been required for minor injuries that he sustained during the incident.
• Officers gave a warning to an individual after there was a noise complaint made at 11:30 p.m. on Kildeer Drive.
Thursday, Aug. 6
• There was a report of a break and enter at 2:19 a.m. on the 1800 block of 101st Street. The caller heard people trying to get into her home through the back door, however, they did not get into the house and may have been scared away by the caller’s dogs.
• A dark-coloured four-door car was driving on 101st Street around 2:30 a.m. and witnesses reported that the occupants were carrying guns. The vehicle was not located.
• A noise complaint was reported at 3:15 a.m. on Ross Crescent.
• Someone reported their vehicle was broken into overnight on Bennett Crescent.
There were also five people arrested for alcohol related offences, there were 11 disturbances reported, five traffic complaints, one minor collision, six nuisance 911 calls and one false alarm.
