Sixteen-year-old facing theft charges

Between 6 a.m. Aug. 16 and 6 a.m. Aug. 17 Battlefords RCMP responded to 66 calls for service.

Aug. 16

9:14 a.m. - Complaint of assault on the Moosomin First Nation involving a fight between two adult brothers, investigation ongoing.

10:27 a.m. - Report of breach of probation received from Saskatchewan Justice, arrest warrant prepared and offender to be located.

11:15 a.m. - Report of child abuse received from Social Services, child apprehended and investigation ongoing.

2:30 p.m. - Report of breach of probation received from Saskatchewan Justice, arrest warrant prepared and offender to be located.

2:50 p.m. - Two wanted females were recognized in a travelling motor vehicle, vehicle stop conducted and both adult females taken into custody on their outstanding warrants.

3:00 p.m. - Complaint of impaired driver on 1400 block of 114th Street, North Battleford.

3:29 p.m. - Complaint of assault between minors on the Sweetgrass First Nation, investigation ongoing.

4:56 p.m. - Report of an adult male and female trying to pawn a bright orange and black bicycle, suspect it is stolen, matter under investigation.

6:39 p.m. - Report of a man and woman fighting in the parking lot of a North Battleford business. Subjects could not be located on police arrival. An intoxicated female was later identified as one of the parties involved, investigation is ongoing.

6:51 p.m. - Report of breach of probation received from Saskatchewan Justice, arrest warrant prepared and offender to be located.

7:13 p.m. - Loss prevention officers at a local business reported having a person in custody for theft. Charges are pending against a 16-year-old young offender.

7:17 p.m. - Complainant reporting the truck he purchased last year out of province is now being reported as stolen, investigation ongoing.

8:08 p.m.- Complaint of stolen vehicle from Moosomin First Nation.

8:28 p.m. - Complaint of a man attending a residence on the 1400 block of 112th Street and trying to fight with residents there. Subject left before police arrived and complainant did not wish to pursue charges in the matter.

8:34 p.m. - Complaint of an elderly woman being assaulted by her adult son. Police responded and advised by victim that it wasn't a physical assault, but she wanted her son out of her residence. Police attended the residence and the son was gone.

8:45 p.m. - Complaint of intoxicated patrons at a North Battleford business. Intoxicated man located and taken into custody.

9:09 p.m. - Complaint of intoxicated man attempting to gain entry into home on the Moosomin First Nation. Man was gone on police arrival, investigation ongoing.

9:07 p.m. - Complaint of assault by adult daughter and her boyfriend. Complainant located and found to be intoxicated, investigation ongoing.

9:29 p.m. - Complaint of assault with a weapon on a male victim by his cousin. Victim received injuries requiring medical care, adult male cousin located and charges of assault with a weapon are pending.

10:18 p.m. - Report of a lost boat on Jackfish Lake. Complainant advised it came untied from dock and wanted to report it in event someone found it.

10:59 p.m. - Prisoners in police custody discovered trying to pass smuggled contraband between cells. Drug trafficking investigation ongoing.

11:07 p.m. - Complaint of male assaulting female on walking path in North Battleford, police attended and located male and female subjects, turned out to be brother and sister and he was assisting her back to her feet after she had fallen.

Aug. 17

4:16 a.m. - Report of two missing female teens. Turned up within half an hour.

5:05 a.m. - Complaint of three females being held against their will by a male, one of the females being assaulted with a weapon and receiving a head injury. Police attended location, arrested the male and executed a search warrant on the property to locate evidence to support the complaint. Charges are pending against a 27-year-old male resident of North Battleford.

Police also responded to five false/nuisance 911 calls, five minor disturbance reports, two alarms, one Mental Health Act complaint, 11 traffic investigations, four minor property damage complaints and one subject who was arrested for alcohol related offences.
