Winners were announced for the annual Lions Speak-Off contest at the District 5SKN Lions convention hosted in North Battleford in mid-February.
The speak-off is a public speaking program for students in Grades 9 to 12.
Finals took place on the Saturday of the convention and the winners were announced by noon.
The winner this year was Logan Dobrohoczki, of Middle Lake, who spoke on concussions.
Second was Angela Doherty, also of Middle Lake, who spoke on depression. The two runners up were Michelle Ostafie of Canora who spoke on farm safety and Rubia Ahmed of Rosthern who spoke on immigration.
Prizes were $200 for first place, $100 for second and $75 for third.
