The City of North Battleford has announced it is holding a Special Council meeting this afternoon - Thursday, July 9 - at 1:15 pm.

This is so the city can make an application to request designation as an eligible assistance area under the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP), in connection to the recent storm and massive rainfall event that hit the city.

The City must have its application approved before residents can apply for PDAP assistance.

For residents, the city states in their news release that they should contact their insurance provider for coverage, and keep detailed records of damage and work completed including receipts and photos. It was noted PDAP is not a substitute for private insurance, and does not provide full compensation for losses.

The City states that if the City gets its PDAP approval, they will provide further information on how residents can make application to the program. More information on the program can be access at https://www.saskatchewan.ca/residents/environment-public-health-and-safety/access-funding-through-the-provincial-disaster-assistance-program .
