The St. Walburg and District Museum is one of 19 projects receiving a grant in November from the Saskatchewan Heritage Foundation.

It was the second and final grant adjudication of 2011. A total of 31 projects were reviewed and $128,875 was allocated to the 19 initiatives, including $20,000 to the museum in St. Walburg.

The museum used to be the St. Walburg Roman Catholic Church. The grant is to be used in preservation efforts.

Other grants include $775 for an archaeological research project involving the Camp Rayner site, $10,000 each to the Shaunavon Cenotaph and the Elfros Union Church, and $15,000 to Orkney Historical Society, among others.

The grants program is designed to help communities, agencies and individuals across Saskatchewan preserve the province's heritage.
