State of Emergency declared in North Battleford

Hour-long deluge of rain and hail floods basements, roadways

A freak prairie storm descended on North Battleford at about 1:15 p.m. Thursday. Hail and rain pounded the community for more than an hour, dumping 2.5 inches of rain.

Rain gauges are unable to measure hail, however, so the actual moisture accumulation is speculated to be at least twice that.

A full story about the storm will be posted later today. For images of the storm visit our photo album section under the community tab.
